When I was in school, I mainly focused on making it through and learning as much as I could. I started my culture blog as a relatively chill way to get my writing out there. Lately, I’ve been more interested in having my writing be in conversation with others by publishing work through magazines and presses. I’m still working on consistently submitting my work places, but in the meantime, feel free to check out:
A poem about being a Black person dating in Iowa in Gulf Stream Magazine.
A translated poem by a super dope Caribbean poet, one of the founders of the Négritude movement, in The Nashville Review.
Stay tuned for forthcoming poetry in The Colorado Review and The New Ohio Review.
An essay about the filmmaker John Singleton in an anthology on John Singleton! (Try to borrow this one from a college library—contact me if you need help with this.)
